The Piano Academy’s teacher, Melia Garber, was born and educated in Timisoara, Romania. She has won numerous piano competitions and continues to perform as a solo pianist as well as at chamber music concerts.

She is a member of the MTNA. Melia has been teaching piano to all ages since 1998. She has two earned Master’s degrees-MA in piano from West University in Timisoara and a MA in piano performance from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Melia was on the faculty at Hollins University for 22 years.
To succeed as a piano student, commitment and dedication are required. Parental support in this adventure is critical for timely and steady progress. Also, each student must have a piano at home for practice.
Group/ Private Lessons are given at Height Community Church, Roanoke. 2014 Memorial Ave, Roanoke, VA 24015
PRACTICE TIME is assigned for each lesson.
COMPETITIONS are encouraged but not required.
BOOKS will be purchased by the student at the recommendation of the teacher
MAKE-UP LESSONS for private sessions are offered twice a semester at the discretion of the teacher. For group lessons there are no make up sessions offered.
INCLEMENT WEATHER may cancel individual /group lessons. If so, sessions will be rescheduled.
Group lessons are as follows: the minimum number of students is 2 and the maximum number is 4. The youngest beginners’ class starts at age 5 all the way to adults. Fee for each 50 minute class is $30.
Private lessons are offered for all ages and all levels. Fees for 30/ 45/ 60 minute lessons are 30 /45 and 60 dollars.
Fees are due at the beginning of every 7 session.
